What happens when five flautists from Germany, Hungary and France meet in one of the music capitals of the world Leipzig? They form a new, fresh, spirited and slightly unusual flute ensemble named QUINTESSENZ!

 

Since 1996 the groups enthusiasm and excitement for the sound-world of the Flute has brought them together in mind and creativity, but most importantly as friends.

 

As members of the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, MDR Sinfonieorchester Leipzig, the Staatskapelle Halle/Saale, the Niedersächsisches Staatsorchester Hannover and teacher at conservatoires in Leipzig, they take inspiration from their daily work and bring the beloved standard orchestral repertoire to the chamber music world. 

 

Just as the group is unusual (from Piccolo to Bass-Flute and other more specialist instruments), they offer arrangements, compositions and Concert programmes that are just as unusual. Have we made you curious?
